Where we came from

The church was founded in 1946 by people coming home after the war: repatriates from the East and people from central Poland returning from forced labour in Germany. They arrived in a town where nobody knew anybody, and started meeting to pray.

Who we are today

There are about 115 of us. The age range is very wide: from small children to people in their eighties. This is not a church of one generation and we do not want it to become one.

We belong to the Pentecostal Church in the Republic of Poland, a registered church operating under Polish law. We are not a new or independent group.

Why we are here

People usually come to us for one of two reasons: they need safety, or they carry pain. The times are uncertain, and scars are not only on the body. We want to be a place where you can open up because you know nobody will use it against you.

Our picture of church is the cave of Adullam from the story of King David (1 Samuel 22:1–2). The wounded, the indebted and the bitter took shelter there, and what came out was a community that fought for one another. David gave them no slogans. He gave them what had helped him. That is how we want to talk about God: not “God loves you” from a poster, but “I have been there and I know the way out”.

If you love God, you love people. It is the natural thing.
